Job Description
This is a full-time, Technical Field Staff role responsible for Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) Verifications. This energy efficiency inspector role aligns internal and external quality processes and systems and ensures both UES and our participating contractors are exceeding client expectations. Additional components of this role include review of QA/QC findings, implementation of solutions, clear and thoughtful communication with our participating contractors, and drive toward continuous improvement of quality processes.
The Technician will be responsible for inspecting homes, mentoring contractors, conducting and verifying project completion, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency, and other responsibilities as directed. The Technical Field staff will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and contractor engagement. While the role is based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, it will include state-wide travel.
As part of your onboarding, you’ll receive full training and support to earn your Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) Certification—an industry-recognized credential that adds long-term value to your career. The certification is covered with the understanding that you remain employed with UES for at least 12 months. If you leave before then, a reimbursement to UES may apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support QAQC processes including the selection, in-person or desktop review, and testing of residential weatherization and energy efficiency improvements.
- Work with contractors to ensure compliance and adherence to program requirements.
- Work directly with customers or contractors to schedule and perform field QA/QC services.
- Support the process of regularly reviewing and updating critical program documentation and process manuals including field verification guides and forms.
- Work as part of a cross functional team and regularly meet with client and other key stakeholders to ensure best practices and continuous improvement initiatives are aligned on and implemented effectively.
- Provide technical training and guidance on building science best practices for trade allies.
- Drive to scheduled inspections in your personal vehicle (reimbursement provided at IRS standard mileage rate).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- Knowledge of energy management systems, building sciences, and energy-related equipment
- Customer service experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) or Building Analyst Technician (BA-T)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in conducting inspections, energy audits, energy efficiency upgrades, and/or building science education and implementation.
- Ability to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.

- Proficiency in MS 365 Applications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
