Position Details

The Project Manager – C&I QA/QC role is a strategic, client-facing leader responsible for the successful delivery of commercial and industrial energy efficiency quality assurance/quality control programs across multiple channels supported heavily by field operations and staff. This role owns the client relationship, program strategy, reporting, financial performance, and more, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and aligned to utility and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep field services experience in either C&I EE programs and/or field QA/QC who can translate client goals into actionable program plans, forecast performance with precision, and lead cross-functional teams to hit aggressive targets. Success in this role requires sharp communication, executive presence, and the ability to influence both internal field teams and external client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, building trusted, long-term relationships and delivering an exceptional client experience
  • Own end-to-end program strategy and performance across multiple field service channels (e.g., C&I Midstream QAQC, Appliance Recycling QA/QC) and drive achievement of contractual KPIs
  • Develop and manage program forecasts, budgets, and savings targets; proactively identify risks and implement mitigation plans to keep programs on track
  • Lead strategic planning to hit annual goals, participation targets, and financial objectives
  • Partner closely with Field Operations leadership to align field execution with client priorities, program economics, and long-term strategy
  • Prepare and deliver client-facing reporting, business reviews, and executive presentations that clearly communicate program health, trends, and strategic recommendations
  • Manage client deliverables including accruals, forecasting, invoicing, monthly/quarterly reporting, and ad hoc analyses
  • Monitor program metrics — QA/QC results, customer satisfaction — and drive corrective action when needed
  • Ensure compliance with utility program requirements, regulatory standards, and company SOPs
  • Lead contract management activities including scope changes, amendments, and renewals in coordination with leadership
  • Identify opportunities for program growth, process improvement, and cost optimization, and build the business case to support them
  • Represent the company in client meetings, working groups, and industry forums as needed
  • Oversee 2+ field technicians and one project coordinator

  • Master’s degree in related field a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, account management, or client-facing operations roles
  • Field services experience preferred — prior experience managing or supporting field-based service delivery (energy efficiency, utilities, lighting, HVAC, appliance recycling, commercial food service, or similar technical field environments)
  • Demonstrated success owning client relationships and delivering against contractual KPIs, budgets, and savings targets

  • Strong financial acumen with proven ability to forecast, manage budgets, and analyze program economics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation experience
